Probiotics are one of two of my favorite supplements, and one that I don’t travel without. If you’ve heard of probiotics, you most likely know how well they work to enhance your immune system. Did you know probiotics are also a great addition to a weight loss regimen? Welcome to my ProbioSlim review.
Force Factor ProbioSlim is a popular 2-in-1 weight loss supplement with a lot of buzz surrounding it. It combines the power of probiotics with green tea extract to improve digestion and help you lose weight.
Does ProbioSlim really work? That’s the question I answer for you in my review.
Let’s start with the ingredients before investigating current user reviews/results, my review, potential side effects, and how ProbioSlim helps you find balance & lose weight.
|My Score: 7/10||ProbioSlim Ingredients|

What is ProbioSlim and how does it help you lose weight?
First, to avoid any confusion, the old SmartBiotics ProbioSlim is the same formula as the new Force Factor ProbioSlim. Force Factor is a supplement company that’s growing in popularity, particularly their Test X180 Ignite supplement for men.
It appears that Force Factor acquired the formula from SmartBiotics and slapped its own name on the bottle while keeping the formula intact.
The good news is Force Factor ProbioSlim costs significantly less than the SmartBiotics version.
With that out the way, let’s take a closer look at how the ingredients help you lose weight and get regular.
LactoSpore w/ Prebiotics
LactoSpore® is a Bacillus probiotic strain with the capability of surviving the harsh stomach environment before safely landing in your intestines. This is a key factor to look for when choosing an effective probiotic because a lot of inferior probiotics die before they have the chance to benefit your digestion.
This particular strain works to reduce occasional diarrhea, ease constipation, and reduce bloating (the key benefit I look for especially when bulking up on a bodybuilding diet).
ProbioSlim also contains prebiotic fruit extracts of kiwi, fig, and papaya that feed the LactoSpore probiotic once it reaches your gut. Prebiotics are another key ingredient to look for when choosing a quality probiotic.
EGCG Green Tea Extract
Now for the part of the formula that helps you lose weight, Super EGCG Green Tea Extract. How does EGCG help you lose weight?
The EGCG and green tea extracts in ProbioSlim work to stimulate thermogenesis and boost your metabolism. On top of that, the formula contains a healthy dose of caffeine that gives you more energy.
This highly effective combination works to help you burn more calories and speed up your metabolic rate. Since ProbioSlim is not an appetite suppressant, your weight loss with this supplement depends on your activity level and daily calorie intake.
ProbioSlim is a gentle weight loss formula as opposed to diet pill formulas that are loaded with stimulants and appetite suppressants. It’s important to keep this in mind before you buy this supplement in order to temper your expectations.
The greatest advantage of this supplement is that it’s a 2-in-1 supplement that reduces bloating while helping you to burn more calories. This effect makes it easier to achieve a flat stomach and burn unwanted fat that may be camping out in your gut.
Now that you know what ProbioSlim is, let’s check out what current users are saying.
Current 2020 ProbioSlim Reviews
Since the ProbioSlim label changed from SmartBiotics to Force Factor, it’s important to check out the most recent 2020 reviews to see what people are saying about the “Force Factor” version.
Below are the pros and cons I identified while analyzing the current user reviews:
Overall, the reviews are mixed for this product, and since two companies sold the same formula, it can get confusing. What I did was focus on the relevant ProbioSlim reviews to create my list of pros and cons above.
Most of the negative reviews are from 2017 and before 2017. However, remember that the formula didn’t change, so perhaps Force Factor is doing a better job with quality control.
My ProbioSlim Review
The biggest issue with this product is the hype surrounding it. A lot of people are buying it with the expectation of it being a potent diet pill. ProbioSlim is not a powerful diet pill.
It’s a supplement with an effective probiotic strain that helps reduce bloating. Aside from the probiotics, people all over the world take green tea extract for weight loss. It works for some and doesn’t for others.
I’m a green tea head and drink my green and oolong teas the same as a hardcore coffee drinker. For me, the caffeine in green tea gives me the daily jolt I need to complete a massive amount of work without the coffee crash.
Green tea also effectively suppresses my appetite and keeps me fueled without eating. I often get tired after I eat, so eating and working don’t mix well for me.
In my case, green tea is an extremely effective fat burner and natural method for weight loss. The reason I’m telling my story is to show that the green tea extract in ProbioSlim does work to boost metabolic rate and the number of calories burnt each day.
Is it a miracle pill? No, far from it, and I think that’s the reason a lot of people are disappointed with their ProbioSlim results.
Before and After Results
ProbioSlim isn’t the type of supplement where you see people posting before and after pictures holding their pants way out from their waist. If you’re interested in a more powerful fat burner that’ll get you moving in the gym, I recommend my Genius Burn Review.
During my analysis of the ProbioSlim reviews, I did find several weight loss reports that appeared authentic. People who are combining ProbioSlim with a healthy diet and exercise schedule are achieving real results.
People who expected to shed pounds on autopilot by taking ProbioSlim without making any other changes did not experience serious weight loss.
The one benefit that does not require additional work is reduced bloating. Most people with bloating issues notice that their lower abdomen pushes out the most, which is never an attractive sight. I load up on probiotics when I take creatine to reduce this type of bloating.
In other words, ProbioSlim may help you reduce bloating in your abdomen and appear slimmer without putting in extra work. This is the effect of the LactoSpore probiotic working to improve your gut health.
The Drawbacks to ProbioSlim
I’m very familiar with probiotics and have taken them for years. When I first started taking them back in 2006, I experienced zero results. It wasn’t until I began purchasing probiotics with 50 billion CFU or more per capsule that I began feeling the positive effects.
These are the problems I have with ProbioSlim:
- There’s only 1 probiotic strain. The probiotics I use have 8 active strains or more (I share the two brands I take in the Better Alternatives section below).
- CFU rating is important when choosing a quality probiotic. ProbioSlim does not have a CFU rating which is a major turnoff for me.
- The price is high compared to the probiotics I take.
- There’s no exact measurement of caffeine in this supplement. I don’t know how many mg of caffeine I get per capsule. Since I drink a lot of green tea, this is important to me.
- It’s not powerful enough for bodybuilders or people who are serious about cutting fat to get that ripped look.
Are you serious about weight loss and looking for something more powerful than ProbioSlim?
If you’re looking for an all-in-1 supplement that effectively replaces ProbioSlim and costs less, I recommend Genius Pro-GT.
A second option is to combine the power of a more effective fat burner with a more complete probiotic.
I take the men’s version of the Garden of Life probiotics with 50 billion CFU, and I love it. The desiccant-lined bottle is a nice touch, and there’s no need to refrigerate them.
When combined, the two supplements above offer more benefits than ProbioSlim on its own. Genius Burn is an effective fat burner, and Garden of Life probiotics for men and women contain 15+ probiotic strains.
Now, let’s discuss side effects.
Below is a list of reported ProbioSlim side effects I discovered during my analysis:
- GI Issues
Compared to most other supplements I’ve reviewed, the potential side effects with this supplement are less severe than with more potent diet pills. Outside of the side effects listed above, the worst “side effect” is the wasted money if ProbioSlim doesn’t work for you.
Where to Buy
Force Factor sells ProbioSlim directly through its website.
Does ProbioSlim work? Yes, it does work, however, that question is relative. If someone told you that ProbioSlim will help you lose a ton of weight without any extra work, that’s a false statement and will only lead to disappointment.
ProbioSlim is essentially an effective probiotic with a standard serving of high-quality green tea extract. There’s nothing so special about this supplement that you can’t find similar supplements, as proven above in the Alternatives section.
Since there’s obviously hype surrounding this product, I hope my ProbioSlim review finds you before you buy it to give you an honest idea of what to expect from it.
People who want a 2-in-1 probiotic/weight loss supplement that reduces bloating will more than likely enjoy this supplement. Gym rats, bodybuilders, and people with zero GI issues are not good candidates for ProbioSlim.
Lastly, consider the price of ProbioSlim before you buy it. Are there better alternatives that cost less? In my opinion, the answer is yes. Either of the probiotics I included in the Alternatives section is better for both men and women.
The bottom line is to buy this supplement if you think the ingredients will help you, not because you think it’ll magically help you lose weight.
