The Perfect Damiana Dosage for Men (Complete 2024 Guide)

Last Updated Feb 15, 2024

Good evening fellow astral travelers, it’s 199 back with another post to add to the growing aphrodisiac series here at 199flags. Today, I’ll be sharing with you my damiana review.

My review includes the perfect damiana dosage [for erectile dysfunction], the best time to take it, effects, and my personal experience.

Herbal aphrodisiacs can be used for much more than better sexual performance. Nootropic effects are just one of the benefits most men don’t know about.

First, a quick background on why I began using aphrodisiacs.

philippines girls

By the tail end of my first trip to the Philippines in 2014, I became sexually exhausted.

When I landed in Bangkok afterward, my desire to meet women had dwindled.

Once the trip wrapped up and I returned to America, I swore to never again allow myself to become sexually exhausted.

For the next few years, I experimented with aphrodisiacs starting with my insane journey through the Dominican Republic.

Cordyceps and Maca were the first natural libido boosters I tested.

Cordyceps soon became my go-to aphrodisiac, and to this day, it remains my favorite.

When I returned to Asia in 2016, I had added damiana to my aphrodisiac arsenal, and I love everything about it.

I had reached a point where I wanted to rotate and stack aphrodisiacs to keep the juices flowing 24/7

Damiana became a staple in my rotation and was a key component in my insane run of 20 new girls in 9 days in Manila.

The most insane part wasn’t the number of women; it was the energy it took to pull it off.

I don’t know if I could have done it without the help of aphrodisiacs.

Now, let’s jump into some tasty damiana info.

What is damiana?

I’ll keep this section brief since this article is not a science lesson.

Damiana, also known as turnera diffusa, is an herb that grows naturally in Central and South America.

Its history dates all the way back to the ancient Aztecs and Mayans, who once occupied Mexico.

The plant is a small shrub with yellow flowers.

damiana dosage and review

The leaves and stems of the plant have been brewed in tea, extracted to make tinctures, smoked, and encapsulated whole (the way I take It).

When I first opened my bag, I immediately noticed its fluffy texture and pleasant smell.

I always liked opening my bottle and getting a whiff of the herb.

I encapsulated mine using vegetarian capsules and a capsule machine.

Damiana Effects

Damiana is prized for its aphrodisiacal qualities for men, and its ability to boost virility in men.

In my case, it gives me the perfect power boost before the gym or a date.

It helps me think more clearly while relaxing my nerves.

Check out a list of damiana benefits below:

  • Treats impotence and erectile dysfunction
  • Libido booster
  • Better sexual performance
  • Relieve constipation
  • Good for insomnia
  • Treats pain and headaches
  • Reduces depression and anxiety symptoms
  • Chronic fatigue fighter
  • Studies have found kidney disease and diabetes prevention qualities

Damiana has similar properties to Yohimbe, but in my experience, I like it a lot more.

Yohimbe makes me feel a bit speedy while Damiana combines well with green tea to give me that super-human boost I’m steady after.

I’m a green tea addict because it gives me that clean energy without the jitters.

Green tea contains caffeine and L-theanine, an amino acid that keeps me calm.

Damiana Dosage

The best way to take damiana is on its own in a capsule in my experience.

I never tried brewing it into a tea or smoking it.

I like to swallow three “00” damiana capsules with my green tea to feel the effects within an hour.

The damiana dosage for erectile dysfunction I would imagine is the same.

More herb doesn’t always equal more benefits.

I began taking damiana well after my problem with ED was in the rearview.

My problem stemmed from bud addiction.

As I mentioned, I only took the whole leaf, never an extract.

Whole herb is almost always my first choice.

I also don’t like taking “special blends” since I’ll only get a small amount of each herb.

Manufacturers make those blends sound awesome by mashing the benefits of every herb together, but they virtually never deliver on their promises.

It’s better to stick with the whole herb and play around with the dosage.

I’ve found that three “oo” capsules of any herb I encapsulate myself is usually best.

Best Time to Take Damiana

Damiana treats me best when I take it at least one hour before engaging in sexual activity or going to the gym.

How long does it take for damiana to work?

It does kick in quicker than cordyceps, and green tea makes it go to work even faster.

You may be able to get away with thirty minutes before activity and begin to feel the full effects as time moves along.

Since some people use Damiana to treat insomnia, it’s not the type of herb that will keep you up at night.

I’ve never had a problem sleeping at night after taking damiana.

Although, it has kept me up longer due to the energy boost I get from it.

For this reason, you may want to take it in the morning or afternoon.

Try to eat at least one meal and let it digest before taking damiana for the best effect.

Like most herbs, it’s best to take it on an empty stomach after eating at least one small meal.

I have taken it on an empty stomach before eating with no problem, but that route may not work for everyone.

Do some experimenting to find out what works best for you.

Don’t take it once, then give up if you don’t feel the effect.

That’s the worst way to test any herb.

For example, horny goat weed didn’t work for me until the 3rd or 4th time I took it.

Even smoking bud, most people need to try it once or twice before it hits them like a ton of bricks.

That’s what happened to me.

Damiana Liqueur

In Mexico, there is a damiana tequila.

You can click here to check out the website that lists the distribution sites.

Just looking at it, I wish I could get my hands on a bottle.

The company is based in Houston, TX.

My Damiana Review

Overall, I rate damiana an 8/10 on the aphrodisiac scale.

It’s the perfect addition to an aphrodisiac cycle plan.

For about a year straight, I cycled aphrodisiacs and was on the hunt for women around the clock.

It was to the point that I wasn’t comfortable most days if I wasn’t getting it in.

Would I do it again?

Heck yeah!

My goal is to be back to having fun two years from now (hopefully less).

Damiana will undoubtedly be part of my aphrodisiac stack and cycle regimen.

Damiana pairs well with cordyceps if taken at least six hours after cordyceps.

It also stacks well with Maca, zinc, and eleuthero root (review soon to come on this magical herb).

The effects I experience are:

  • Increased power
  • Aggression boost
  • Clearer mind
  • More energy
  • Longer hang time
  • Harder erections
  • Sharp libido boost
  • Quicker recovery for more rounds
  • More adventurous in the sack

For bodybuilders, there is currently mixed scientific evidence supporting damiana as a testosterone booster and aromatase inhibitor.

Final Thoughts

Damiana is certainly one of my favorite herbal aphrodisiacs and a staple in my collection.

In my experience, it outshines other popular aphrodisiacs like Yohimbe and Tribulus.

I’ve experimented with at least twenty aphrodisiacs in my life and can tell which ones are legit.

As I write this article, I wish I still had some damiana in my stash, but being empty may be a good thing since work comes first at the moment.

Cheers and best of luck!
