Last Updated Feb 15, 2024

Welcome to my Prime Labs Prime Test Review. Prime Labs test booster is a blend of special ingredients intended to give men a natural testosterone boost. I inspected the ingredients and am very familiar with them, having used most of them extensively.

Prime Test is currently flying off the shelves, but are men getting a real testosterone boost, or is it all placebo?

In this review, we’ll go over the ingredients, see what current users have to say about their results, and I’ll share my review.

Prime Labs Testosterone Booster Ingredients

When I review a supplement, especially a complex or proprietary blend, I jump to the list of ingredients before reading anything else about the product.

Marketing kings play a major role in the supplement industry because it’s a great place to get away with making sensationalized health benefit claims.

Now, let’s see what current users are saying about their results.

Current Prime Labs Test Booster Reviews

Before I give my final review of a product, I dig into the current user reviews to identify positive and negative trends. Here’s what I found after inspecting current Prime Labs test booster reviews:

  • If you’re a bodybuilder or experienced weight lifter, who’s past his prime, you may experience an increase in your lifts by a noticeable – not significant – margin.
  • The belly fat reduction claims could be true depending on your diet and exercise once you begin taking Prime Test.
  • Several of the ingredients in Prime Test, particularly horny goat weed, are well-known herbal libido boosters that make wives around the world happy campers every day. If your sex drive is low, you may be able to boost it with Prime Test.
  • I wanted to find actual lab test results for this product, and what I found wasn’t very promising. It’s difficult to say for sure whether Prime Test boosts total T.
  • Tongkat Ali, one of my personal favorite herbs, could be the main driver behind the energy boost this product delivers. In my review in the next section, I’ll discuss my thoughts on Tongkat Ali in great detail.

My Review

Now for my two cents. The amazing advantage supplement companies have over pharmaceutical companies is loose regulation. This gives supplement companies including Prime Labs the ability to claim their products boost testosterone without providing proof.

I browsed the Prime Labs website and saw no lab test results to prove that Prime Test boosts testosterone. To be in accordance with the FDA, all Prime Labs has to do is avoid claiming that its products treat or cure any disease. “Boosting testosterone” doesn’t fall under the umbrella of treatment or cure.

Having said that, the Prime Labs test booster does include ingredients that may boost testosterone, specifically Tongkat Ali. I previously wrote an article that outlines the best Tongkat Ali dosage for men who want to boost T and improve their all-around physical performance.

I’m a huge fan of Tongkat Ali and the effects of horny goat weed, particularly its ability to boost my libido.

My Conclusions

  • The proprietary blend of ingredients in Prime Test equals 1484mg per dose. The blend includes all the ingredients besides calcium carbonate. That’s 8 ingredients amounting to 1484mg. To give you an idea of why this concerns me, I typically take 1 – 3 grams of each ingredient in that blend. To me, the dosages look too small to reap the true benefits of horny goat weed and Tongkat Ali.
  • My problem with proprietary blends, in general, is that they allow the body to build tolerances for each of the ingredients. You end up building a tolerance before getting the chance to maximize the effects of each herb.
  • After a month or so of taking Prime Test, you’ll likely build a tolerance to the ingredients, making it ineffective moving forward. It takes weeks or months for a tolerance to subside.
  • Saw Palmetto – Saw Palmetto is an herb that no man who wants to boost testosterone should take. You may have heard of men taking this herb to boost prostate health and reduce hair loss. There’s evidence showing that saw palmetto does this by blocking the conversion of testosterone to DHT. This may sound awesome, but it’s actually quite dangerous in my opinion. I threw a bottle of saw palmetto in the trash a couple of years ago after it lowered my very healthy libido and made me feel weird. Further reading (*) led me to understand how dangerous blocking DHT can be for a man.
  • For example, the popular hair loss medication, Propecia, is a DHT blocker that’s known to give men erectile dysfunction and cause them to lose their sex drive. Finasteride, sold under the name Propecia, may cause gynecomastia, aka man boobs. The bottom line is blocking DHT carries more risk than reward. I don’t see why any natural testosterone booster would include an herb with DHT-blocking properties such as saw palmetto.
  • Overall, I think this product works for up to 3 months maximum. In my opinion, I’d build a tolerance to this product well before 3 months. Personally, I prefer to cycle herbs in larger doses to get the full effect and avoid building tolerances. In the past, I’ve cycled herbs for months at a time while maintaining the full effects.

Does Prime Labs Testosterone Booster Work? Final Answer.

I do think it works, but as I mentioned above, it’s not a product that should be taken long-term or will work long-term. If you’re looking for a product to take for 1-2 months, this may get the job done for you.

Are there better options? Yes, I think so.

Also, remember, this product contains saw palmetto. I have over a decade of experience with herbs. Saw palmetto is an herb I will never take again or recommend.

Prime Test Alternatives

If you’re looking for a better long-term solution than Prime Test, there are herbs that show promising results for boosting T.

It’s important to keep in mind that herbs will never replace injections. With the right expectations, you’ll experience positive results.

Bottom Line

Due to the saw palmetto content, I don’t recommend Prime Labs test booster. I’m also partial to taking herbs individually and avoiding proprietary blends/complexes altogether, so that’s something to keep in mind.

Additionally, the total mg count for the proprietary blend feels too low. I don’t see how any man would feel the full effects of any of the herbs in the blend at that small of dosages.

I believe there’s a placebo effect in play with this type of product because men get excited when they read “burn belly fat” or “increase stamina” on the label.
